What specific things might I do in a day to build an even stronger and more vibrant relationship with my two daughters and my wife? Did I play? Emotional energy is directly related to “having fun.” One of the things I love most is Daddy-Daughter date night. On date night, five-year-old Camille and I usually head for the Green Submarine, her favorite restaurant, and then we go to a movie, and after the movie, get ice cream.

I enjoy this time thoroughly, but if you ask Camille if this is the most favorite thing she does with Daddy, she’ll very honestly tell you, “No.” Her most fun thing is “when we play on the trampoline,” or “play monster at the park.”

I’m not ashamed to admit that I spend a lot of evenings on our trampoline, and also getting my nails painted and playing the “monster” in a game that involves my girls being magical princesses that can always defeat a monster and turn it into a good person. (Think Beauty and the Beast!)

I strongly encourage you, if you do NOT have a child in your life with whom you can play regularly, to find one!
